In my house we have a toy kitchen and no matter how much I try to keep the area organized we end up with limited amounts of toy food. I check under the sofa, inbetween the couch cussions and I can not find the food! The play food seems to vanish. Eventually, it starts becoming pretty expensive to buy play food set’s so I decided we would make our own play food out of paper mache. You can make just about any type of fruit, vegtable or play meal’s by using this Paper Mache recipe.
With the help of an adult this craft is suitable for ages 3+. If you have older children that do not play with the toy kitchen anymore enlist them to make these goodies for any little kids in your family, extended family or even friends or neighbors.
You can make pretty much any fruit or veggie out of paper mache. Use this Paper Mache recipe you may want to shape your fruit or veggie out of tin foil before starting. You can even make hamburgers, cupcakes and donuts!
Warning: Do not let your children eat play foods.
